ACTIVITIES (CURRENT POJECTS):

 

Health

 

  1. Basic Package of Health Services (Nov 2009-June 2015): CAF is Implementing the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) in all districts of Takhar province with support of USAID through Partnership Contract for Health services (PCH) MoU # PCH-18-TKHR-C1-CAF-BPHS in partnership with SHDP. CAF is the leading agency in this project. A total Population of 901900 is receiving health services through 66 HFs and 509 HPs. Provision of MNCH, FP, Child health, Nutrition intervention, EPI services, communicable diseases, Mental Health and Disability services are the most priority components of the project.

 

  1. Basic Package of Health Services (Nov 2009- June 2015): CAF is Implementing the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) in cluster 1 of Badakhshan province with support of USAID through Partnership Contract for Health services (PCH) MoU # PCH-01-BSHN-C1-CAF-BPHS in partnership with BARAN. CAF is the leading agency in this project. A total Population of 537400 is receiving health services through 44 HFs and  269 HPs. Provision of MNCH, FP, Child health, Nutrition intervention, EPI services, communicable diseases, Mental Health and Disability services are the most priority components of the project.

 

  1. Result based financing (Dec 2010 – June 2015): CAF is implementing Result based financing project in Takhar province funded by World Bank. The project strengthens the quality and quantity of health services in current BPHS project through payment of incentive to health workers based on their performances. It is a case-control study in which CAF is providing incentive to 27 treatment (case) health facilities.

 

  1. Result based financing (Dec 2010 – June 2015): CAF is implementing Result based financing project in Badakhshan province funded by World Bank. The project strengthens the quality and quantity of health services in current BPHS project through payment of incentive to health workers based on their performances. It is a case-control study in which CAF is providing incentive to 17 treatment (case) health facilities.

 

  1. Basic Package of Health Services-BPHS-SEHAT (Jan 2014 - Dec 2016): CAF is implementing the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) in Kunduz Province in partnership with Merlin/SCI through financial support of World Bank-Managed Trust Fund SEHAT project. The partners providing health services for the population of Logar province through 58 health facilities and 420 active health posts. Provision of MNCH, FP, Child health, Nutrition intervention, EPI services, communicable diseases, Mental Health and Disability services are the most priority components of the project.

 

  1. Basic Package of Health Services-BPHS-SEHAT (Jan 2014 - Dec 2016): CAF is implementing the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) in Logar Province in partnership with SHDP through financial support of World Bank-Managed Trust Fund under SEHAT project. The partners provided health services for the population of Logar province through 40 health facilities and 202 active health posts. Provision of MNCH, FP, Child health, Nutrition intervention, EPI services, communicable diseases, Mental Health and Disability services were the most priority components of the project.

 

  1. Essential Package of Hospital Services-EPHS-SEHAT (Jan 2014 – Dec 2016): CAF is implementing the essential package of hospital services (EPHS) in Diakundi provincial hospital in partnership with SHDP through financial support of World Bank-Managed Trust Fund SEHAT project. The partners providing hospital services for the population of Diakundi province as the only referral point of the province. In addition, the hospital offers professional inpatient and emergency services as per EPHS package closer to the population in rural areas.

 

  1. Mobile teams in response/prevent the emergency cases (Dec 2014 – April-2015): This project is funded by WHO and started as from December 01, 2014 and will continue till April 30, 2015. By this project 2 Mobile Health Teams provides health services in response to the emergency cases in three districts of Logar provinces, Charkh, Pule Alam and Mahammad Agha.
  2. Mobile health team to support unserved/ conflict areas (May 2014 – May 2015): This project is funded by WHO and started as from May 10, 2014 and will continue till May 10, 2015. By this project 1 Mobile Health Teams and 1 fixed health center provides health services to the population who are un-served and living in conflict areas in Kharwar and Babus districts of Logar Province.  

 

Nutrition

 

  1. Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP) (Jan 2015 – Jun 2015): This project is funded by WFP and started as from January 10, 2015 and will continue till June 30, 2015, Through this project CAF with support of WFP provided therapeutic supplementary food to pregnant and lactating women and children in 8 districts of Takhar province besides CAF supported the nutrition component of BPHS through this project.

 

  1. Community Development

 

 

Education and Research

  1. Community Midwifery Education- CME (April 2014 – March 2015): CAF in partnership with AKF is implementing community midwifery school in Takhar and Badakhshan provinces where CAF is responsible for running Takhar community midwifery school. Total of 26 students will be enrolled in the school, trained and deployed in the needy health facilities of the province. The project funded by USAID.

 

  1. Baseline assessment of infant and young children nutrition: (Jan 2015 – April 2015): This project is funded by MI, where CAF conducts a Baseline assessment of infant and young children nutrition (IYCN) indicator using LC-LQAS is Laghman and Wardak provinces of Afghanistan.
