Job Description:
The Project Manager plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Manages and defines objectives and oversees quality
control throughout the completion of the activity’s life cycle working with HQ and field teams. Collaborates with colleagues and other health sections/ teams to develop
integrated work plans, budgets, and multi-sector interventions, which are essential for the success and sustainability of each activity covered under the portfolio.
- Manages and oversees the development of activities from initiation to completion.
- Oversees entire activities, and monitors budgets, and scope to ensure successful execution of deliverables and completion of activities.
- Develops and coordinates inputs on work plans, budgets, reporting, hiring, and relevant contractual documents.
- Keeps complete files for each activity.
- Effectively Communicate with Ph.D. clients, and other stakeholders to create a supportive environment at the line department and community level
for effective implementation of project-planned activities.
- Lead timely happening project planned procurements (PPEs kits, Chlorine Solution, Chlorine Spray Pumps, Equipment, and other supplies) in coordination with
related departments within the organization
- Conduct visits to project implementation sites, with a focus on the smooth implementation of quality services.
- Liaise with local Project Coordinators and focal points to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
- Ensure that the program operates within the approved budget
- Coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency
- Write monthly and quarterly and ad hoc progress reports on the program for management and stakeholder, Providing weekly and monthly updates to the
cluster.
- Communicate with stakeholders and spurting organizations, as outlined in program & agreements.
- Conduct and evaluate needs assessment for the training programs.
- Train CAF, medical & none medical staff, trainers, project staff, and project beneficiaries
- Ensure that the flow of information to and from CAF is relevant to aid the community and accommodate changes in the environment.
- Moderate Advocacy Committees Meetings and events
- Assist in convening Advocacy events e.g. press conferences and seminars.
- Organizing the training for provincial health departments and private health sectors with the coordination of senior management
- Participate in meetings and events invited by donors, government, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure adequate communication with all local Partners and their training and capacity development.
- Translate texts and presentations from National languages (Dari and Pashto) into English and vice versa
- editing and translating training and campaign materials
- In consultation with the Senior Management Team, recruit, interview, and select well-qualified project staff as per project needs.
- Monitor progress of training and public awareness workshops conducted and Trainers
- Supervising project-related teams in their field by preparing plans, reports, and fruitful technical feedback, to the appropriate levels.
- Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational and cluster standards
- Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks
- Respect the Afghan culture, keeping events and themes tuned and balanced in all program activities.
- Report supervision, monitoring & evaluation findings to the Project Coordinator and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate
- Lead and participate in regular meetings with community partners to provide updates and share resources.
- Manage evaluation efforts on project reports with assistance from HQ.
- Assist with administration duties, such as drafting contracts and grants, development meetings, and event materials; and,
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD Degree) in Health, Master’s Degree preferred.
- Project Management (PM) Certification is preferred.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years of line management experience (especially in emergency projects).
- Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or International organization is preferred.
- International program development or project management related to public health preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. English proficiency is a plus.
- Practical communication skills with fluency in English, Persian, and Pashto
- Strong communication and relationship skills with MOPH, PPHD, and health project implication organizers and stakeholders
- Good in report writing and required computer skills (MS Office)
- Ability to travel to districts in Samangan province.
